Museum Montanelli launches the new exhibition season on 13 September 2016 with an exhibition by Václav Bláha.
The exhibition is being organized on the occasion of what would have been the 80th birthday of former Czech president Václav Havel and will be held as part of the Václav Havel Library’s HAVEL@80 program.
The multimedia exhibition, which offers a new look at the work of Václav Bláha, aims to involve viewers in celebrating the memory of Václav Havel, to honor his ideas, actions and lifelong struggle for freedom, and to reflect on the times in which he lived and in which we live today.
The exhibition curator emphasizes the interdisciplinarity of Bláha’s work. “It is a reflection of the time that we lived in during the totalitarian era prior to 1989.” In order to document this aspect of Bláha’s work, she is working to borrow several of his paintings from the National Gallery, Gallery of Modern Art in Roudnice nad Labem and from other private collectors
We should all pause to reflect upon the messages by which our generation celebrates the birthday of our beloved president Václav Havel.
